The Kymco K-Lite Folding Mobility Scooter has been designed to offer you the ultimate combination of handling, compact size, transportation and performance in one folding scooter. The focus on the lightweight design has meant this scooter incorporates the lightest materials, electronics and folding mechanisms while remaining robust and durable.
The folding solution allows the scooter to be taken where ever you go and stored with ease. When folded, the scooter can be stored in a number of locations and allows for it to be transported in the boot of car, a coach, train or airplane. This scooter really is the ultimate travel companion. When not in use you can easily store the K-Lite in a cupboard, storage area, lobby or garage without using too much space.

The light weight of the scooter is thanks to its clever choice of components. The lithium battery in particular weighs only 1.64kg, making it perfect for every user to handle. This lightweight benefit allows for the battery to be easily removed from the scooter and transported separately to be charged, should you need to leave your scooter outside.
The folding mechanism itself is available in either an electric or manual style. The manual version of the K-Lite Folding Scooter has a simple foot operated pedal at the base of the scooter which begins the folding process. The automatic version uses a wireless key-fob to fold the scooter with ease at the touch of a button. Should you lose this fob there are 'child safe' buttons below the drive controls which control the folding and unfolding mechanism for you.
The K-Lite is available in a choice of 3 colours and thanks to its maximum user weight of up to 19 stone (120kg) it is suitable for a wide range of users. The K-Lite is perfect for day-to-day use and can travel up to 9 miles on a single charge.

If you have a long-term illness or you are disabled, you don't have to pay VAT on certain goods and services that you buy in the UK. In general the equipment covered by this scheme are things that are of practical help to you because of your illness or disability.

If you are in any doubt as to whether you are eligible to receive goods or services zero-rated for VAT you should consult Notice 701/7 VAT reliefs for disabled people or the HMRC National Advice Service on 0845 010 9000.

What counts as a long-term illness or disability?

For VAT purposes, you have a long-term illness or you are disabled if you meet any of the following conditions:

  • You have a physical or mental impairment which has a long-term and substantial adverse effect upon your ability to carry out everyday activities
  • you have a condition that the medical profession treats as a chronic sickness, such as diabetes
  • you are terminally ill

So, you don't qualify if you are elderly but otherwise able-bodied, or if you're only temporarily disabled or incapacitated.

You don't have to physically buy the goods in person. If your parent, guardian, wife or husband buys the goods and services for you, then you won't be charged VAT.

What counts as personal or domestic use?

Personal or domestic use means that the goods or services are supplied for your own private use, rather than for business purposes.

Also, the goods or services must be just for your own use - not for use by anyone else, or chronically sick or disabled people in general.

However, if you and your partner are both chronically sick or disabled and you buy goods or services for both of you to use, then you won't have to pay VAT.
