Available with a choice of batteries, the Zest comes as standard with 12 Ah batteries that provide a range of up to 8 miles. While this may appear disappointing compared to the 10-12 mile ranges advertised by other manufacturers for scooters with similar batteries, one has to bear in mind that all manufacturers calculate their ranges differently, and that the battery size itself is the better indicator of range. An upgrade to larger 22 Ah batteries is on offer, with a much longer range of 14 miles - although this will increase the weight that has to be lifted, the battery box being 4 kg heavier.
Comfort is key to the Zest, with suspension on both front and rear wheels, giving you a cushioning to the ride found on few other small scooters. The adjustable seat is well padded, and can be rotated to enable easy transfer to and from the seat. Curved delta handlebars come as standard, as well as lightweight thumb controls. It also boasts a weight capacity of 21.5 stone.
Easy to dismantle, the Zest can be taken apart into five different pieces, allowing it to be easily lifted into a car boot. This allows you to take your scooter with you, ideal for holidays, shopping, and trips out and about. Available in a choice of six stylish colours - red, blue, green, orange, white and silver, the Zest also comes as standard with a headlight to ensure visibility. The Zest also has a market-leading two year warranty.

If you have a long-term illness or you are disabled, you don't have to pay VAT on certain goods and services that you buy in the UK. In general the equipment covered by this scheme are things that are of practical help to you because of your illness or disability.
If you are in any doubt as to whether you are eligible to receive goods or services zero-rated for VAT you should consult Notice 701/7 VAT reliefs for disabled people or the HMRC National Advice Service on 0845 010 9000.
What counts as a long-term illness or disability?
For VAT purposes, you have a long-term illness or you are disabled if you meet any of the following conditions:
- You have a physical or mental impairment which has a long-term and substantial adverse effect upon your ability to carry out everyday activities
- you have a condition that the medical profession treats as a chronic sickness, such as diabetes
- you are terminally ill
So, you don't qualify if you are elderly but otherwise able-bodied, or if you're only temporarily disabled or incapacitated.
You don't have to physically buy the goods in person. If your parent, guardian, wife or husband buys the goods and services for you, then you won't be charged VAT.
What counts as personal or domestic use?
Personal or domestic use means that the goods or services are supplied for your own private use, rather than for business purposes.
Also, the goods or services must be just for your own use - not for use by anyone else, or chronically sick or disabled people in general.
However, if you and your partner are both chronically sick or disabled and you buy goods or services for both of you to use, then you won't have to pay VAT.
